This project was an absolute pleasure to work on. Our client was fairly particular in the finish to be acheived and opted for our premium service.
The stone itself was a soft creme marfil . It was easy enough to work with and responded well to our process of work.
It entailed about 60 2m to be restored , slight lippage and scratch removal, sealed and polished to a high gloss finish.
As it was during the summertime and the weather was beautiful, the sun shining and the forecast for more of the same the following day, we started moving the furniture outside to free up room and clear our workspace.
The plan was to get all the grinding and sealing completed on day one and come back the next day to polish. With this approach we would achieve a better result by allowing the floor to dry out overnight.
As you can see, the finished result was spectacular. By allowing the moisture to evaporate completely we were then able to use a premixed polishing compound that would sit on the surface.
Our standard process would have been to complete this project in one day. Admittedly one hard and long day, but nobody said this work was going to be easy…Right ?
Things progressed nicely for us. We were able to start with a 200 grit to take out the slight lippage and remove all the scratching in the tiles.
A flat floor is the best place to start in any future scheduled maintenance programs. It will eliminate the accumulation of grease and grime build ups in the groutlines. As long as you employ a program of maintenance your floor will remain pristine for a long time to come.
The kitchen, dining area and hallway glistened beautifully in the bright sunlight that filled the house the following morning. Our client was overjoyed and has gone on to recommend us to friends and family.
