Marble Floor Polishing Donegal

A project that was to take 2 and a half days to complete. A pretty straight forward task, given our experience. A four phase grind, 400 - 3000 grit, seal and polish. No real issues with the floor itself.

100 m2 of a hard wearing marble tile that has kept well and will last. The grout lines were pretty bad though but nothing a strong detergent wouldn't manage to shift, along with an aggressive scrubbing

When grinding at a 400 grit ( 400 scratches per square inch ) with diamond encrusted resin bonded tooling it will leave a scratch pattern that will obliterate any previous scratching on the surface.

This pattern will be erased with an 800 grit pattern , gradually scaling up from 1,500 to 3,000 grit. Leaving the floor ready for the polishing phase.

With little damage to the floor tiles, bar some light scratching, we progressed at a steadily. On day two we were up to 1500 grit and would be left with the last phase of grinding and the polishing the following day.

We had completed the sealing of the floor after the 400 grit grind, when it is best to use an impregnating sealant that will be absorbed into the pores of the stone while they have been opened up and exposed , allowing for a deeper fill.

The sealing of marble floors will enhance the colors and increase the longevity of natural stone floors. Also prohibiting the absorbing of any moisture or liquids from damaging the stone itself.

Our client was 100% satisfied with the finished project, practically a brand new glossed and polished marble floor.
