Marble Floor Polishing Wexford

A trip to Bunclody, Co. Wexford to restore a Jura marble floor in a commercial unit that was being transformed in to a space for residential living.

In total there was approx 150m2 to grind, seal and polish. It was a gorgeous looking stone and we were looking forward to getting stuck into it.

The grinding phase would start at 200 grit due to some scratching on the floor surface.

As we finished the 200 grit grinding phase we then sealed with an impregnating sealant that would be absorbed into the pores of the stone.

This will create a breathable barrier in the stone and prevent any moisture from being absorbed.

The importance of marble floor sealing is often overlooked in the industry. A time and money saving endevour executed by unscrupulous practitioners.

Floors and countertops need to be sealed to prevent the absorption of moisture and also increase the longevity of the stone as well as enhance the resulting reflection and dept of shine.

We continued to seal with stone soaps throughout the remaining phases of grinding, from 800, 1500 and 3000 grit.

This approach would insure that our client was getting a finished surface that would last at least another 10 years before we would need to revisit. Given that the appropriated maintenance schedule is employed of course. We always say that we would guarantee our work for life, if you live out in your garden.

With our work progressing without interruption and on time, it took two 10 hour days to complete this job, we finished the polishing phase and mopped our way out the door to the complete satisfaction of our client.

If you are in the market to have your natural stone floor restored, or you need some advice on the upkeep of your floor, please don't hesitate to get in touch with us. We will be happy to help out.
