With 50m2 of creme marfil marble to grind seal and polish in Donnybrook and to be finished in a day, we started at 7am, hoping to have the project completed by 4pm. We are optimists.
It was a fairly awkward project, in that it was broken up into five areas. A long and tight hallway, a small WC , a utility room , kitchen/dining area and a living space. This is what would slow us down. Having to start and stop our processes five times.
Not to quibble about it, each project presents its unique challenges and thus encourage our learning and growth, equipping us for the next challenge and giving us something to pass on.
I decided to start in the kitchen area. This way if we fell behind in our schedule for any unforeseen reason our client could have access to it when she got home from wok. Always thinking ahead!
After stripping the old seals and polishes we started to grind the marble floor at 400 grit, breaking to seal the floor with our premium sealant, before commencing on to 800, 1500 and 3000 grit grinding. Then moving on to the marble floor polishing phase.
Needless to say, this project was completed at about 4.30pm and the client was over the moon with the results.
